**[18F]ML10** is a radiopharmaceutical PET imaging agent, specifically a radiofluorinated malonic acid derivative developed as a non-invasive **tracer to detect apoptosis (programmed cell death)** in vivo. It accumulates in apoptotic cells due to physicochemical changes in the cell membrane during apoptosis and is used to visualize apoptosis in tissues via positron emission tomography (PET). Preclinical and clinical studies have demonstrated its specificity for apoptotic, rather than necrotic, cells, and highlighted its rapid clearance, in vivo metabolic stability, and low non-specific tissue uptake. It has been explored mainly for early assessment of therapeutic efficacy by imaging apoptosis in oncology (such as glioblastoma, triple negative breast cancer, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, etc.), acute ischemic stroke, and fibrosis, but has limitations for certain indications (e.g., not sensitive enough in some chemotherapy settings due to pH dependence)[1][2][3].
